Dear Miss Phoebe,

I got really pissed last week and ended up snogging my best friends ex, who she had only split up with a few days earlier.

I feel guilty now I don’t think I should tell her.  She was so depressed about the break up and this will only make things worse.

What do you think I should do?

Dear Guilty,

If it was just a single snogging session (say that three times fast), then I wouldn’t worry too much about it.  We all act careless under the influence, and do things we’d otherwise not.

However, if he was good enough to see again you should most certainly let your friend know.  You run the risk of keeping her friendship if you decide to see her ex and she finds out from a third party.

Even so, you still run the risk of upsetting her.  Just remember, a good friend is worth a lot more than a fling.
